In August 2023, we embarked on an exhilarating three-day adventure at Campingplatz am Rhein, and it was nothing short of spectacular! Nestled alongside the majestic Rhine, with only a narrow road and a fence separating us from the river, our evenings were filled with enchanting strolls along the water's edge, marveling at the pleasure boats gliding by and soaking in the breathtaking views.
The campsite's facilities were top-notch, boasting its own lively bar and restaurant, a refreshing swimming pool, and impeccably clean toilets and showers. For biking enthusiasts, the nearby area offered easy cycling routes, perfect for exploring the local scenery.
But the real thrill came from the plethora of nearby attractions waiting to be discovered! Whether by bike or motorhome, there were endless adventures to be had. From the charming Kirschenskulptur - Kulturufer Bingen, just a 10-minute ride away, to the picturesque Englischer Rosengarten and historic Klopp Castle or Niederwald Monument, every destination was brimming with excitement. And let's not forget the tranquil Hildegarten for a leisurely picnic, the scenic Mouse Tower and park for a gentle stroll, or the majestic ltville Castle and elegant Biebrich Palace for a taste of grandeur. With so much to see and do just a stone's throw away, our stay at Campingplatz am Rhein was an unforgettable journey filled with thrills and discoveries at every turn!

In August 2023, we made a delightful pit stop at Camping Müllerwiesen while journeying south, and it was a day to remember! Nestled in the enchanting region of Enzklösterle, the site was surrounded by rolling hills and lush green fields, creating a serene and picturesque backdrop.
Although a bit off the beaten path, the adventure was well worth it. To explore the local attractions, we hopped back into our motorhome and set off on a thrilling excursion. Just 25km away, the magnificent Schwarzenbach Dam awaited us, offering stunning views and a perfect spot for a scenic drive.
We also ventured to the Burgbach Waterfall and the All Saints Waterfalls, both around the same distance, and each promising a refreshing and breathtaking experience. On the way, we discovered the charming Gaishöll Waterfalls, adding another gem to our journey. For those with more time, a visit to the elegant town of Baden-Baden was the perfect way to cap off the adventure.
Camping Müllerwiesen was the ideal starting point for a day packed with natural beauty and exploration, making our brief stay an unforgettable part of our trip!
On the final point, if heading south after leaving here. Don't forget to get a photo of the World's Largest Cuckoo Clock in Schonach im Schwarzwald.

In August 2023, we indulged in a thrilling three-day stay at Campingplatz Seepark Fliesshorn, and it was an absolute dream! Situated on the edge of the mesmerizing Obersee, the campsite itself was a gem. But what truly elevated our experience were the nearby attractions that beckoned us to explore.
From the enchanting Island Mainau to the historic Meersburg Castle, the scenic Seeburg Park, the impressive Mangturm Tower, and the evocative Ruine Honberg, there was no shortage of adventure. Island Mainau, in particular, stole the spotlight with its exquisite gardens and captivating displays. While the entrance fee may seem steep at over 25 euros, the immaculate upkeep and breathtaking beauty made it well worth the visit. Whether you're a gardening enthusiast or simply appreciate stunning landscapes, this island paradise promises to impress.
Back at the campsite, while the pitches weren't expansive, the facilities were spotless, the staff welcoming, and the proximity to the lake unbeatable. During peak season, securing a prime spot might be a bit competitive, but the clean toilets and friendly atmosphere more than made up for it.

We stayed at Camp Bled in Slovenia, and it was an absolutely thrilling experience! The site is exceptional, offering top-notch services, immaculate pitches, and a prime location that exudes quality. Just 100 meters from the beautiful Lake Bled embankment on the west side, it’s the perfect spot for your adventure. From Camp Bled, it’s an easy stroll down to the lake, which offers some of the best views, especially if you catch the breathtaking sunrise. You can hop on one of the boats to the stunning Bled Island or take a leisurely walk around the lake’s 6km path. While cycling directly on the path is not permitted and it can get busy during peak season, we found the walk very easy and flat, offering spectacular views. If you prefer to visit Bled Island from the east side, you’ll find more boats available, or you can even hire one and row yourself. Lake Bled is strictly protected from swimming and motorboats, ensuring its pristine beauty. There are also taps around the lake that allow you to drink straight from the crystal-clear water. But remember, swimming is off-limits and can carry a €200 fine. The journey over to Bled Island is amazing. Once there, you can take part in the customary ringing of the bell or even carry your partner up the 99 steps to the top. No matter what you choose, Lake Bled will leave you with unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime. #LakeBled #BledIsland

Lake Bled is becoming very popular so it would be highly recommended to book in advance. Try to book the deluxe pitchs if you can, they have there own sink, water and best views. If your only coming here one, make it count. Staying here and seeing most things can be done in around 3 - 5 days, but the memories will last much longer.

We had an amazing stay at Camp Lucija, just 5 km from the enchanting town of Piran. It's a breeze to get there by bike or on foot in about 30 minutes. Driving into Piran can be tricky any time of year, but the ride from Camp Lucija was absolutely perfect. Your right next to the harbour where you can dream of the fantanstic boats in there.
Right next door, we spotted a charming little 'Airs' location with around 40 bays, but snagging a spot there might be a challenge. The campsite itself was wonderful, though we did note the need for securing our bikes due to the open public access, but don't let this put you off, it's just making that little effort to lock the bikes securely and not leave anything to much in the open, safety seems pretty good in this lovely country.
Piran is a gem! This beautiful town is absolutely worth the visit. The Wall of Piran is a must-see for its breathtaking views. We also strolled along the Promenada Piran, a stunning 2 km coastal walk with amazing scenery that left us in awe.
Note
It's a pretty big site so you may get away without booking, but an advance booking will give you a chance at the pitches facing the harbour for that added touch.

We stayed at Camping Mirjam to explore the incredible
The campsite is actually the charming backyard of a pub, run by the friendliest owners who even offered to drive us to the cave if needed. The caves are both breathtaking yet distinct, offering unique experiences. One features a small train that takes you deep into the earth, while the other involves a scenic walk. Neither is strenuous, but I personally preferred the Škocjan Caves for the immersive walking experience.
Remember to book ahead if you're visiting during the busy season, as these popular spots can fill up quickly. Our stay at Camping Mirjam was fantastic, and the convenience and hospitality made our trip unforgettable!
Note
The site does have limited showers when we stayed and getting hot water was a bit of an issue, but the owner is upgrading these at the time of our visit, so don't be put off. They are very nice and would appricate the visit to there bar well there. Easy walk back to the van after a few local beers or a bottle or two of wine.

We had an unforgettable adventure at Camp Bohnji in May 2024! If you’re considering a stay here, a few tips will help you make the most of your trip. They don't accept advance bookings, and the riverside pitches by Lake Bohinj are the first to go—no wonder, since they boast the best views. We arrived early in the season and secured a prime spot with a gentle slope, perfect for Mia to paddle. You do sometime find yourself having to manoeuvre the van past other pitches to secure the best spot without compromising another camper. Toilets and showers are very clean.
Lake Bohinj offers a serene, less commercialized experience compared to Lake Bled, yet it’s equally stunning. While access around the lake can be tricky due to the limited roads and paths on one side, the beauty is well worth it. The facilities at Camp Bohnji are top-notch, with spotless toilets and showers, a delightful but simple restaurant, and free WiFi (though it’s spotty near the bank).
We cycled to the breathtaking Savica Waterfall, just 6km away. The ride was exhilarating, and the falls are a must-see. For an incredible getaway to this spectacular lake, Camp Bohnji is the ultimate choice. Don’t miss it!

We spent a few nights at Camping le Château de Martragny to explore the Normandy American Cemetery, a destination high on our list. Situated approximately 28km away, we easily reached it in our motorhome (Roller Team), thanks to ample parking for such vehicles. Our travel style often involves planning routes that encompass multiple attractions in an area.
The campsite itself occupies the grounds of a picturesque chateau, boasting beautiful gardens and excellent amenities. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, even when we arrived late after our journey from the UK. Initially placed under some low trees, they promptly relocated us to a better spot without any fuss.
The facilities were impeccably clean, making a return visit highly appealing despite the slightly longer travel distance. Overall, the campsite's charm and hospitality made it a standout location for us.

Perched high above the Loire Valley, it offered sweeping vistas and even the occasional spectacle of hot air balloons drifting by. In June 2023, we stayed at Camping Le Moulin Fort, and it exceeded all expectations! Initially, I chose it for its prime location near the stunning Château de Chenonceau, a beautiful castle that spans the river with elegant arches. But the real highlight was our pitch—just 2 meters from the embankment, where we could watch boats glide by.
We even rented small electric boats to explore the river and get an up-close view of the château. This campsite also served as an excellent base for visiting other nearby attractions. One evening, we were treated to the magical sight of hot air balloons drifting overhead.
The facilities were top-notch, with a great bar, restaurant, and spotless toilets and showers. The easy bike rides in every direction, whether to town or along the river, added to the charm. Camping Le Moulin Fort was a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure, making our stay unforgettable.
